Dorking’s Golden Ticket Day

Dorking’s Golden Ticket Event on Saturday November 9th

Stop Press: Mary Portas (Queen of the high street!) is visiting Dorking on Thursday October 31st to help Transition Dorking promote the Golden Ticket –Try Dorking First event.

Some of you may have already heard about this but just in case here’s an explanation:

Participating shops decide on a minimum amount they would like their customers to spend to qualify for an entry to their golden ticket draw. Any shopper who spends that amount or over will get a ticket in return for their contact details (raffle tickets will be used as this is being done on a wing and a prayer!)

At 5pm in the afternoon (Saturday November 9th) all shops will draw and golden ticket winners will be revealed throughout the town.

Transition Dorking and the Dorking Advertiser will carry this information on their websites the following week.

The golden ticket is merely a marketing hook for the very important message about supporting our town’s independent shops. Sadly it really is a case of: ‘USE IT OR LOSE IT’ for many of them at the moment.

By bringing our seasonal spend into the high street we could make all the difference to many of them.

We are experiencing a fantastic response to this initiative as most shops seem very grateful for any help at all. The fact that Mary Portas is coming to help us promote it is the icing on the cake!

If you would like to participate or feel you could support us in some way then please do get in touch.
